About this Journal

The peer-reviewed journal Acta Informatica Pragensia provides a forum for state of the art research and development and publishes original theoretical, empirical and review articles on the science of informatics. Informatics studies the representation, processing and communication of information in natural and artificial systems. This is why informatics has computational, mathematical, biological, cognitive and social aspects and also an inter- and transdisciplinary character that includes information and communication technologies and their application in multiple fields. This journal is focused especially on the cognitive and social aspects of informatics, including the study of the social impact of information and communication technologies.

The journal’s areas of interest include general topics such as information society, information and knowledge management, information systems, human–computer interaction, social networking, as well as related fields of applied informatics such as business informatics, social informatics, community informatics, education informatics and systems science (system view of complex sociotechnical systems).

The journal Acta Informatica Pragensia is OPEN ACCESS and has NO CHARGE for article publishing. Accepted articles are immediately published on the website (in Forthcoming articles) prior to the release of the issue. Acta Informatica Pragensia (ISSN 1805-4951, DOI 10.18267/j.aip) is published by the University of Economics, Prague.

The journal is published twice per year (at the end of June and December). In addition to the standard biannual issues, special issues from conferences or thematically focused issues are also published. Contributions can be sent throughout the year. Book reviews, critical essays or reflections are also accepted for publication in non-reviewed sections Book reviews, Miscellanea and Perspective, which are evaluated by editors.
